Sony Ericsson Arc - Review from Vodafone

If you want a sleek smartphone with the latest Android™ Gingerbread OS, 8.1 megapixel camera and incredible HD viewing, choose the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - sleek and slim

You won't find many smartphones as comfortable in your jeans pocket as they are in your hand. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is just 8.7mm at its thinnest point, and 9mm thin at its thickest. Yet it still boasts a massive 4.2 touchscreen - which is bigger (and clearer) than those on the HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S.

A big smartphone that's not heavy

As well as being slim, the Xperia Arc is amazingly light, weighing in at only 117g - less than some bars of chocolate. And thanks to clever, curved styling, it rests neatly in your palm, so you can grip it securely even without fitting a non-slip case.

Enjoy BRAVIA quality viewing - in your hand

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is built with the same technology inside that controls the superb picture quality of Sony BRAVIA TVs. So whether you're showing off photos to friends, checking out a YouTube clip on the bus ride home or browsing the web, you'll see everything in incredible depth, colour and sharpness..

Share from your Xperia Arc to your TV

If you've got a TV with an HDMI socket, hook it up to your Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc with the included connector - which you won't get with smartphones like the Sony Ericsson X10.Then share HD-quality video of your kids playing in the park, and pin-sharp pics of your holiday - both shot with the Xperia Arc's 8.1 megapixel camera.

Your Xperia Arc is better with Android™ Gingerbread

The latest version of the popular Android operating system is pre-installed on your Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Called Gingerbread, it's simple to learn, use and personalise. If you've used Android before - for example, on the HTC Wildfire or Sony Ericsson X10.- you'll notice some improvements. Like the on-screen QWERTY keypad, which is now faster - ideal for when you need to write an email fast to a colleague or client..

Business productivity apps in Android Market™

Whether you want to edit important documents on the go or simply read them, there's a wide range of business apps among the 100,000 apps in Android Market. A handy icon on one of five of your Xperia Arc's homescreens takes you straight to Android Market. Once you're there, you'll find many apps for free.

Take everyone who matters with you

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is perfect if social networking on the go is your thing. It has Timescape - a brilliant tool for bringing together all your feeds from Facebook, Twitter and elsewhere. So you can see (and reply to) everything in one place - with no switching between apps. There are similar tools on the Nokia N8 and HTC Desire..

The Xperia Arc saves you logging in to social networks

It can be a pain trying to remember the various user names and passwords for your favourite social networking sites. And it's no fun logging in again and again. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc takes away that hassle by saving all your login details securely - so you're never more than a couple of taps away from everyone you care about.

Motorola Defy - Mini Review

If you lead an active life and want an touchscreen smart phone that won't get damaged easily, choose the rugged Motorola Defy.

Motorola Defy - the rugged Android smartphone

The Motorola Defy gives you all the benefits of a smart phone - but in a robust design that can cope with a bit of rough treatment. The Defy's touchscreen is scratch-resistant, thanks to its thin yet tough Corning Gorilla® glass display.

The Defy also comes with a hard plastic outer casing that resists grime and water. Say you're working on a building site, it's a hot day and theres lots of rubble around. You receive a message from a friend - and you can read it straight away because your touchscreen stays clear of dust. Later, the weather changes suddenly and there's a rain shower - no problem, you can still use your Defy outdoors without damaging it.

Another neat feature of the device called CrystalTalk" Plus which helps you out when you're in a noisy environment and the Motorola Defy comes with a special feature called MOTOBLUR - It automatically delivers your messages and social network updates to a universal inbox on your homescreen.

There's nothing worse than the sinking feeling you get if you've lost your phone. But with the Motorola Defy your security is never in doubt - as you can locate and wipe your phone remotely. And because the Defy lets you back up your contacts securely, you can retrieve this information quickly and easily.
